C MELODY SAXOPHONE
This instrument belonged to my mother, who was given it by her father. C Melody saxophones were invented by Adolphe Sax in 1846 primarily as an orchestral instrument. They were popular in the U.S. during the early part of the 20th century, peaking in popularity by 1929. The instrument I have photographed was made by the H N White Co in Cleveland, Ohio in 1916-1917. I have taken these photographs with my father's last camera, a Nikon 8008 film camera, as a way to honor the memory of both of my parents.
